Heads and cams in 36 hp are obviously smaller in size, should be easy to tell.

the 36hp heads usually havea steel insert in the spark plug hole / thread also where the rockers bolt on the rocker saddles are sunken and not flat allowing half of the rocker shft to sit into the head if that makes sense

the 36cams are shorter than the 1200 and 1600 engines

Hi

36 hp stuff usually has a 111 xxx xxx part number. 36 hp cams have shallower bevel on the gears than 40 hp - 1600 ones. The the top cylinder head nut hole on 36 hp heads enclosed.

The 27 and 39 heads have recessed top cylinder bolts and have the half recessed tappet mounts.
