Does anuone recognise this type of sunroof?


Hi,
Just joined the forum, and wondered if any of you could help.
I'm completely restoring a '74 Bay that was imported from Australia a while ago, and am having problems getting the rubber seals to fit this sunroof. Any tips on manufacturerer, or where to go for spare seals would be hugely appreciated! I know the pic isn't the best, but there are 2 seperate panes of glass, with a central panel between them that has a light tube attached below.

Never seen one like that before. Most likely a custom thing someone did once. You'll probably have to get seals made up for it, maybe cut some yourself from a similar application. Good luck.

take the seals ur got to clark rubber and compare to find a similar type that will do the job.

Cut to size, feed it around, and see if you can find some rubber adhesive to join the rubber ends to gether to fit tight and snug.

Thanks so much for the replies.... I'll chase up the Aunger tip shortly.

I'm in the UK, the bus was imported by a chap last year (as I understand it, there's a few "issues" about that sort of thing on here, and rightly so IMHO!) and as it was already here, and I was looking to get back into air-cooled, I ended up buying it. This is my 3rd Bay Window, and I've had 3 T25s too (the most recent being a South African VolksieBus with the 2.5 Ltr straight 5 that they fit down there:lol:

This project has grown somewhat from being a quick rub-and-repaint, into a full-on strip, cutting, welding, new panels, new headling, engine rebuild, new interior....
Bit of a time pressure too, as it's currently in a million pieces, and I'm due to take the wife and kids on a 3 week tour of France in July!

Anyway, I really appreciate your help, and hope you don't mind me popping back for advice on here as I want to keep it as origional as possible, mechanically, keeping as much of it's Australian character as possible.
