narrowed beam and passing the pits oh oh.
just purchased a 64 beetle with 2 inch narrowed and adjustable beam. but has south oz rego and im in W.A. so to re register over here it has 2 go over
the pits.
they require standerd width stance, measured from middle of the tyre. the cars running narrow 135 on front.
im hopping they r to dumb to realise the beams narrowed and somehow get away with putting a wider rim on front and hopefuly fooling them.. mayb
getting someone 2 widen the rims 4 me or purchasing some 5.5 inch wide rims.
has anyone else had this delema or does anyone know how to get around it without having to replace the beam with a stock width 1 .. cheers.

I would take it in and have them check it, without saying anything.
MANY cars have been passed with adjusters fitted of various design, and these are not really legal anyway.
If you can raise the car up high enough to get 165's under the front, I would do that, and depending on the rear ride height, possibly raise that
also, so as they dont go looking too far into how it was slammed!

Hey Chris..... I just had the POS60 over the pits in O'Connor and it wasn't a problem.... It's running drop spindles and a 2" beam... All the dude
was concerned with was the minimum ride height (with driver on board) must be no less than 100mm to the lowest point.... Mine just made it with
165/70's on the front and the adjusters set at max!.... He didn't check the track, but did notice that I had put a lot of work into the underside of
the car and I told him is was not my daily driver, but just a little project that I was fixing up....
And before you ask.... I got a yellow sticker for being too low.... I only had 40mm clearance and the copper thought that wasn't quite enough....
Don't understand it myself!
