What would you do - at work.

What would you do?

You start working for someone, one year later the boss tells you hes closing and go find another job.

Then decides to stay open.

Two years later decides to close down go find another job again. You find that working for yourself is the way to go.

He puts everyone off work and when he is ready again, calls them all up to come back. Half of the staff dont return as they find other jobs in the mean time to put food on the table.

You start to get a few jobs and then the boss calls you back. Are you going to come back to work? Yes, no problem, Or no, your sacked.

Feel guilty that you dont go back? Just forget it because you dont want to see his face again? Tell him no problem and cya later.

Youve got a few own jobs on that day that make more money than a day wages.

A boss that never looks after you or appreciates you. Never a payrise, your the only worker there to manage and look after the entire place consisiting of about 3 businesses.

You never get good workers, and when you do, they quit because they cant stand the boss.

That sounds like a really crappy way for him to run his business/es. I guess he knew that if people really needed the job, they'd come back when he clicked his fingers.

Good for you thought getting your own thing going - definitely the way to go, and you can't argue too much with your boss! :)

Well this is what i did -

When he asked me to come in friday or dont come in at all,

No worries mate, thats fine by me. Cya later.

Concentrate on my own work as well as work for another guy, which i gave a call and "start tomorrow" was the answer. Nice.

I dont know about other people, but i dont see how a normal person can live with a mortgage to pay and to put food on the table, getting answers like dont come in tomorrow because im closing down, go find another job, i dont have any money to give you a payrise. Come back to work because im staying open. And then makes me feel guilty because im not going to work because i dont want to see his face.

Thats exactly what he expects, as soon as he wants something, you have to do it, but when you want it, you have to wait.

And now i dont have to listen to anything blah blah blah all day so its pretty sweet :D

yeah, stuff the guy, you NEED a reliable job to keep a roof over your head, dont give this idiot the fun of messing you about, concentrate on building your own buisness, or at least finding somewhere you'll be happy, you'll be spending a 3rd of your life there!
good luck with your venture i hope in 6 months you are in a position to employ your old boss and mess him around:lol::lol:

yep, need stability. Tell him thanks, but NO! Any decent boss knows that to run a decent business you need to look after your blokes. Good luck with your new endeavor.

no way dude, he expects way too much and doesn't give you anything in return.

by the sounds of it, go on your own if it's better for you.

Good stuff, i sure did do the right thing.

There are some real bad bosses out there and i dont like it at all.

No reason to call me and make me feel guilty, let alone talk to me likes hes some sort of a millionaire or big man. Soon enough he will realise that he lost everyone thats ever been good.

Time for me to be the bad boss haha!

i've seen your work and you will have no worries. The reason he is chasing you is because of your skills and your easy going nature. be tough pick a point in the future and do not worry about whats in the rear view mirror. good luck.:tu:

If you`re happy working for yourself and the money pays the bills and puts food in your mouth then stick to working for yourself. Maybe a bit daunting at first but if you`re good ( as others have said here) go for it. Just don`t forget to put aside your % for BAS statements EVERY week. Good luck.

im having similar problems with my boss, except for the fact he's randomly deciding not to pay me one week every now and then.

worked so hard to get to where i am, feels like its all down the drain when you look at your bank account and you find that sometimes what your father told you about working hard and reaping the reward isnt true.

I feel ya, i am working without any kind of contract or EBA. could just dump me like hot cakes if it wasent for me being the only one on the east side of Australia to cover his contracts.

stability is the key, good to hear you told him to shove it...
