it looks like the number is from a 1972 model engine
D0,835,007 to D1,000,000 1200 engine....
all D series engine were 1200cc...
so where a 1972 1200 engine would come from??

my engine is a duel port and i thought only the 1600 came in duel port

nah all motors from 71 on were twinport either 1300 in the pov model standard bug or 1600 in the superbugs
its not the original engine unless someone has changed the engine number
ive seen a few engines around stamped with police numbers b4
1600s upto late 73 were AD and from then on AS
and 1300s up to late 73 were AB and AR from there on
