Dual Cab value?
Hey all, i'm the proud owner of a '77 dual cab and was just wondering what sort of money, approximately, they go for? I've had a bit of a look
around but haven't seen any for sale in similar condition to mine, no rust, only a couple of owners etc. etc.
Any help would be appreciated.

Scott.. I have just had a look at the early picture in your other thread.. Your vehicle looks very stock and original.. They are very hard to find in
this condition.. I have owned quite a few in recent years (still have two) and I can tell you a) Don't sell it unless you have to and b) if you have
to sell it I would start above 15K.. Advertised in the correct place you will achieve that.. Good luck Rob

Haha, im after a single cab at the moment for work purpose. My uncle used to own a lowlight dual cab before he bought a truck.

Rob, thanks mate I really don't want to sell it, i know i'll only pay through the nose to get one as good later on. I'm just struggling to find
room for it.
Kuch, yeah they're great work vehicles, I only retired mine as a work ute a few months ago and the new hilux just isn't the same.

come on guys there about $7000 ish on the road roughish condition , well for the last three id seen sell quick but none the less around that price,
and ive seen a early 71 dc for $11gs not sell for a while then eventually sell

Since word got out that I have a new work truck to clock up the miles, people have assumed that my '77 DC was for sale. I receive at least one
call/email every couple of weeks with a request to buy it, and although it is not for sale, the offers have been well above $15,000. Mind you, it
needs nothing done to it, so that's a consideration.
For the record - the DC has a nice warm, dry garage to rest in, and I drive it a couple of days each week. She's not for sale.

I used to have the same enquiries when mine was a daily driver, i'd have people waiting outside buildings I was working in and putting notes on it
also. I've often admired yours from pics in VWMA, they're similar although the paint on yours is immaculate, thanks for the info.

Good advice.. Sound and original examples, especially of the standard that you two guys have, are not thick on the ground..
PS: I have been driving a new T5 dual cab for a week and I wish it had the design thought and operator functionality of the T2 DC.. eg: central
locking but no button to open the rear doors (means you need to turn off and take key out), No "hand brake on" warning light.. No intermittent wiper
(possible fault)..Noisy Auto Trans.. Noisy engine.. Plenty of pluses but small irritating minuses..

There's a few weird things happening with your T5. Mine is the basic trim level with no extra bells and whistles, but I do have as standard a button
for the rear doors, warning light for the handbrake and intemittent wipers with variable controls. The engine is noisy (128 kw) and the manual gearbox
'notchy' (ie, shifting around town is awkward), but I expected that from a work ute. You might need to ask the dealer (I know - it's like asking a
lion for a peak in his mouth, although it shouldn't be like that).
A big plus is the average 800 kilometres from the 75 litre tank around town - exceptional for a big truck. Can push 900 on the open road.

Absolutely agree.. This is our 1st T5 128kw although we have several of the 1.9l variant.. Exceptional ride/build and economy..
Interesting you have an unlock button on your panel (on the door I assume).. I've just dropped the ute to the dealer where they will attend to the
wiper and brakelight issue.. However I checked several of the DC's and none have the switch to unlock the back doors..
