Has plenty of potential. Better photos if you can.
What is with the exhaust and wing on the beetle ?

best mounts i ever used can find them from your local hardware that
was just when i had the motor sitting there to get the levels right.
as for the bettle it came with that wing when i got it (a few weeks ago) just havnt got around to taking it off. the exhaust was just one that we took
off my brothers car then shoved it over mine for a bit of a larf.
if i put up bigger photos it will take ages to load but i will get around to it
aleks

Well I F#@*ING LOVE IT!
DRB FTW!
BTW, what about inverting/reversing the box and mounting the rote mid? Might fit with some minor mods.

hey mate, you're on Ausrotary as well arent you??
first pics I seen of the car, loks great, couple of possibly stupid questions though.
what is it??
where do I get one??
I'm guessing they were an 80's kit car so not too easy to find. it looks to me much nicer than a eureka though. (there is a 13B Eureka being built
in Alice I know of)
and just for interest, where is the radiator going to live, out front or in the sides??
EDIT: I should read all posts, I also agree with the previous post, would be nice swapping the rotor and gearbox around to make it mid engined.
Danielles beetle is back of the road for its makeover, and I got the job of project manager/head mechanic/artistic advisor/ideas man.
and somehow she got a type 3, which is all good, because I got 'Victa' the 'spare parts Type 3'

as for the mid engine conversion it would be sweetness but for the amount of work i would rather get a bigger tranny then do it.
yes i am also on ausrotary same username and its a 1990 model kit i got mine in brand new condition about 2 years ago.
i am thinking about mounting the rad/intercooler (might not run a cooler) above the gearbox and have all the side vents and a wing under the car
feeding cold air to the rad then the hot air going out through the rear vents.
but i am open to any thorts
cheers aleks

It may be worthwhile checking out a twin small rad setup in the rear. Plenty of small jap cars have ones that would be ideal. Mine's front mounted
but I toyed with supercharging and was going to use two thermo valve controlled small rads in the extreme rear for extra cooling when stressed, fed
from the side vents on my Sabre MK2 and venting out the rear (check my ride pics) vents.

Hi aleks. sweet car. I too think the midmount is a great idea. coz rotors aren't known for being light but they reasonably compact. That way you
could also use a five speed subaru WRX gearbox with the centre diff sorted.
Re the radiator, [repeating the manta to told so many doing engine swaps] the best position is the front of the car. if you are going with a turbo
rotor, you'll need the rear scoops for ducting air the intercooler. The small grill at the front of the car will be more than enough for a radiator.
just slope the radiator ala sport sedans and it should work very well.

not sure who your talking to but my project hasnt even got the green light yet and my old rotary beetle had low speed cooling issues
it was a pretty ugly instal
just a box section frame welded into the spare wheel well with a rx4 radiator bolted to it
theres plenty of people in the non vw conversions section that know far more than i do
but i've been doing shitloads of research on the subject and saved heaps of pics along the way so if theres something in particular never know i may
be able to help with a pic
