electric window winders for beetles

just wondering where you can get these in australia, and do they work with the quarter glass ?

if not, how much is a 1 piece window kit + the electric winders ?

thanks

there is a place in melbourne that makes a universal kit to suit all "flat glass" type windows.
they tell me these can be fitted to vdubs and people have used them before in the vdub community.
dont know if they will work with the single piece windows.
this is what it looks like and is approx $350.

you would have to do the one piece window conversion first
and Bugs are much better with the 1/4 windows left alone

Ive seen a few electric done but they use other make bits n pieces not a kit

i have one piece windows and they gave me headaches.

Electric windows mean extra cables, power, wiring, future shorts if your scrappers and seals aren't done properly etc etc.

I think that'd be cool to have but not always worth the effort and problems.

thats my 2c's

ive put electric windows in my bug and left the standard smokers windows in very happy with them
i had one piece jobbies in my black bug and have the kit that i was gonna put in my Lbug - Glad i didnt now
they look nice and clean from a distance but god damn they are shit in looks up close and function
rattle, dont seal well, dont wind up fully etc
u can root around fixing all these problems but u dont realise how much u miss smokers windows on a hot day till u havent got them

i didnt particularly want to get rid of the quarters, only if i had to.

and the main reason i was doing the conversion was i want to get my interior back together and working and both my window winders are stripped and just make clicking noises when you wind them. so the glass is held up with bits of wood

thanks for the link and tute baja wes, is that the only style of kit you can buy, as in, one that utilises the original winders. or can you get all new winder kits.

i saw a british tv show on the net last year, where two british blokes did up a super with a 5000 pound budget, and they put a electric kit in their doors that was a whole new winder/frame/slider/motor setup.
