The world has finally gone mad!

(Non VW Rant. Run away!!)
What has the world come to when a young kid participates in an activity that promotes fitness and gets canned by the media?
(10 year old body builder).

We currently have a generation of kids and parents willing to let their kids sit on their butts all weekend playing xbox and eating potato chips and no one says boo?
Public liability and vandalism has put an end to most playground equipment that people of my age would have used as kids at local parks.
And to top it off, it's morally acceptable for a parent to let their pre pubescant child pose nude in the name of art???? WTF!

Are there any parents out there who agree or have the wheels finally fallen off my wagen???

weight lifting and that sort of thing especially pre-pubescent can do serious damage, can completely change body growth, stunt growth, I believe you will find most young athletes are very careful about this sort of thing.

I agree that the use of weights should be limited at a young age but jeez.... contact sports put you at risk of injury also.
I even know of instances where kids have broken bones from riding a bike (er..falling off one).
You can't wrap them up in cotton wool and expect them to have all the worldly knowlege of actions vs consequenses.
So long as their outside running and being active their not turning into couch potatoes.
