Early Type 3 and Disc Brakes
Hi All,
I have an early Type 3 chassis (it has drum brakes all round) under my Condor and I am looking at a full disc brake conversion.
I have found the Volks Conversions Kits which seem reasonable, especially with getting them drilled to any pattern which helps with wheels.
Anyway, my questions are:
Are the Volks Conversion kits the best or only option?
Given I want the car as sporty as possible, should I also buy the camber kit that Volks Conversions offer?
Is there anything else I should be considering?

You can use the later type 3 front disc brake spindles as they bolt straight in. But you need to go to the 4x130 bolt pattern if you do that. I think
VVD sell a conversion too. The late disc brake spindles come in two versions the '72?> are the better ones. Install a dual circuit master cylinder
and consider going IRS if you want "sporty".

Thank you mackaymanx, on the subject of IRS, isn't that what I've got? The two axles swing independant of each other. I do need to get the torsion
bar checked and fit up new shocks as well, but I was going to use basically the same setup.
Thank you too rexy, I think I will go the complete conversion route. I need to get wheels with quite a lot of offset, so using a Ford 5-stud pattern
gives me a lot of flexibility in purchasing wheels.
What about the camber kits on offer? Does anyone have any thoughts on those?
