New to the board + New Ride
Hi all, I'm new to the group, but i have been browsing the site for a while so this is my first post.
My Vw, I picked it up about 2 years ago ($800) and left it at a friends house until last week when I finally got it shipped down to me, it needs a
small amount of work (I hope) to get it through rego.
If any body can help id the vw (year, model)it would be great, the rego papers say it is a 68 ???? but I think the chassis number tells me it's a 71
?????, I also don't no about the engine size.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Engine No: AD304138
Chassis No: 1112916315
the compliance plate is in German
here are photo's of the rest of the vehicle

The vin# is for a 71 so the body is a '71, if the pan has been changed it well go off the year of the pan. Does the vin# on the rego papers match
the vin# on the body. I would say the rear lights, front bumper and vents in front guards are wrong for a '71(been modified)

AD series started in late 70/early 71 according to my lists and yes the number is for a 1600 dual port. And as Mackay Manx stated the front guards
look wider, also the grills and the bumper are off a 67 model or earlier. The front skirt also wrong for year or cut to suit. Is the front end BJ or
K&L? Maybe the vehicle has had a front cut done to chassis??? The under bonnet pics are definately BJ series due to fuse box, wiper motor, brake
reservoir, fuel tank, etc. (Assume BJ due to four stud hubs) Rear end deck lid, window, bumper, guards appear to be BJ 68-71. Doors, front screen and
vents appear to be BJ also. So body is BJ series. Most importantly what is your chassis number under the back seat?
What my garage isn't messy........Well chaos is a form of order isn't it?

The Chassis No: (1112916315) under the back seat is the same as what's on the compliance plate and the rego papers from 2002, What is Bj or K&L
series stand for |
