Shipping engine from NZ
Anyone got any suggestions on how to get a stock 36 hp motor from Christchurch to Brisbane?
I suspect that it is not worth the $, but its got to be worth asking the Brains trust.
Thanks,
Simon

Break it down and give one part to each Kiwi coming into Australia , shouldn't take long, pick up parts as they arrive in Bondi.

I recently asked about a pair of seats to get sent over and the guy quoted $500. This being from a car wrecker and he may have pulled the figure out
of his arse ???

By far the easiest way is by airfreight consol.. Don't under any circumstances use LCL Seafreight.. Your $$ can be put to better use.. Today, one of
my drivers was waiting at the sea terminal in SYD for 4 hours to collect 2 ctns.. I told my customer to use Air but they thought they would go the
cheap transport option.. Only problem is the wharf/clearance/customs brokers fees etc.. are double what the cost of the actual linehaul is... Then on
top is local cartage AND the time waiting at $44 per hour

Yip, don't send sea! When I brought the Speedster replica over I put the body in a 20 foot container and the engine/trans and wheels on a seperate
pallet. Pallet was about 900 NZ Pasos but charges at the port still make me bleed. The Spyder I air freighted, cheaper and less blood involved.
The last thing from Christchurch was an A6 Intruder aircraft drop tank, was cut in half and well wrapped, delivered to Air New Zealand at ChCh
airport. Then picked up at Mascot this side of the ditch. About 500 NZ Pasos.
