I've never tried doing it, but have wondered about putting a rack in a BJ bug for a while.... what sort of rack is it you're trying ???

Iam sure there are some posts, maybe in the tech mods and freq questions or the offroad forum. Had a great dscussion about bump steer and a few
drawings about how it all works....
You could always jsut buy a early super and fit it!
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

Hi
I fitted a R&P to 72 Superbug, a lot of work but the results were very good, the steering ended up so sharp that I felt I needed to learn to drive
the car again.
The really good thing with a rack is that you don't get slack when off centre.
I was lucky that a 75 L bug rack fitted, there are much more pitfalls when fitting one to ball joint car, as you must take into account Ackerman and
bump steer.
So my advice is research to find out what other people have used and make sure that the results suit you.

check out what the formula vee guys now run. surely something they use could be adapted for street use and could certainly be cheaper than 2.5k
although that does look impressive!!
