CB Performance shipping charges

I put an order in for some new carbs, i got the shipping quote $280 US, i declined how can they charge so much, i've used them before but this time i cancelled the order. I told them they should use USPS as there better and cheaper than UPS. I bought in 65 kg of parts from Jake Raby in Georgia for just $250 more. Sorry CB lost one customer unless they change who they ship with.

I fully understand. I also declined parts due to their shipping prices. 2 x 61 front guards about $200, shipping was about $500. Bloody crazy.

I thought rebuilding a VW would be cheap - Shit I was wrong, just don't let the wife know !!!!

it seems airfreight charges are going up all the time...

Many US companies ship everything overseas by Air freight

so, You need to find someone in the USA to accept Your parcel [many items are freight free in the uSA]
then ship it by parcel post to You..

Guards and bumpers are probably too large for post?

but ordinary items - distributors parts etc are OK by Post..
it might take a while....
but its cheaper...

BUT with the Aussie dollar at 65c US
everything is going to cost More....

A few years ago, I tried to get a few VW parts shops in the uS to send Me the goods via Post..
but they wouldn't be in it...

I tried to get some VW stickers from a shop in the US years ago , the stickers weren't expensive but the airmail Bag was.. I tried to tell them to stick them in an airmail envelope and post them to me...
but NO - they had to use the expensive airmail padded bag?? so I didn't buy them.... lol

also, You can buy unbreakable VW clutch and accelerator cables etc from a place over there...
but they didn't sell outside the 48 states.... lol

I also tried to have the goods shipped to an address in the uS but they would only send to the address on My mastercard....

but Now I've had PayPal for many years I use it all the time and I select the address... lol

CIP1 - CB P - Wolfsburg west - etc
CIP1 seems to be the best - excepting for semi auto beetle parts - evw

Another option is...
Have all your USA Mail and packages sent to your own USA2Me.com mailing address and then forwarded to you. Wherever. Whenever.

Another option is to organise your freight from this end.
Have them box it up and tell them you will get it picked up.
Ring a few companies here(to get a quote), and get them to pick it up for you.
Even the same company who does theirs will be cheaper, because they wont try to make money on it.

OR, yes, buy the stuff here, you might be surprised.

USPS - the issue a lot of businesses have with USPS is that you have to goto the post office to ship it as they will not pick up from your door like UPS. Not an issue on one item but when you start looking at a few things a day gets wasted in the line at the post office.

The result of this is that a lot of US businesses will not ship via USPS.

To make it worse USPS use to picl up at your door and then changed a few years back so a lot of businesses got pissed with them. This happened the same time they stopped ground shipping.
