What kind of transmission is this?

My '59 beetle has a 1600 engine, swing-axles, and 4-stud drums... quite a mixture, so I'm not sure what kind of transmission I have.

The transmission case has the following numbers on the side, in this order from top-to-bottom:

38
113.301.103
C
0196464 (I think this one is the stamped production number)

Thanks for any help!

its probably a 1500 has it got long or short axles?
u will need the code off it to tell
that would be the part number of the case
u will find the code just infront of the driverside axel in behind the chassis fork

thanks

How do I tell the difference between long and short axles?

I'll have to have another look with a torch to find the code... that's where I found the other numbers (in front of the driver side axle in behind the chassis fork ) but they were the only ones I could see.

is it the car in your avatar? are they standard wheels? if it is it looks like 1500 axles. 1500,s are longer from where the spring plate bolts to the wheel face than earlier versions
