Scat long motors
Hi guys this is my first post I'm currently looking to buy a type 3 fastback, I don't know a whole lot about them. I'm just wondering i saw these
motors on E vw parts and was wondering would this motor fit in a type 3?

It's a long way to go for warranty issues and it works out cheaper to buy one locally after you factor in ther shiping/import duties etc.....and you
get a warranty!

Im in melbourne but Rod messaged me and got me onto the right track, just wondering how much would need to be spent on a motor (2050cc) to get it upto
around 90-100kw? how much can a vw box take?

Build a 2276 or 2332. Might cost a bit more but you will have more than 100kw easy. Gearbox will take a fair bit of power if you treat it nicely. My
brother's Type 3 currently has about 250hp at the wheels and the gearbox isn't anything special. Super diff in a late single side cover box with the
heavy duty side cover and kombi 4th gear for cruising.

Well you can spend and spend and spend on motors...... I have a local to me who has just pulled his perfect, rebuilt 1835 ( I think ) out, because he
wants to put in a 2276. Probably going to be another 5k plus in the hole once he is done and made all the changes

oh ok yeah you can spend and spend on any motor, I'm looking at spending around the 3-4k mark I'm still new to all this Vw performance stuff. So I
don't really have a great idea on what power and reliability I would be looking at.
