My beetle turned beasty on the way home from work

Finally got "Casper the friendly bug" properly tuned and running sweetly, so started driving him to work. Not having driven a manual for many years and getting used to the beetle gears some of my gear changes have been a hit a miss, so imagine my horror when driving home from work when changing from 3rd to 4th the engine sound becomes really noisy and loud. I am thinking what the hell just happened, what did I break................!. The car still seems to be driving ok no smells or anything like that, but it just sounded loud. When I finally arrive at my destination I walk around the back to sus out if I have a huge hole in muffler or something like that, to find I am missing one tail pipe. I guess that gives all new meaning to blow it out your .............. . Sounds really beasty. Pam

be thankfull it didnt go thro someones windscreen
new tailpipes nearly always come loose till they start to rust in place

my old trick was tack weld the tail pipe to the clamp
stops it falling out but can still be removed by undoing the clamp

gotta be carefull tho
dont think u could do it with brazillian peashooters
it would prob blow holes in them

Error

The amount of hubcaps i have lost on the gravel road outside my house due to those crappy brazilian sh#t hubcap clips is unbeleivable! Only buy the german stuff, more expensive but at least it saves me buying new hubcaps every weekend when i take her out!

while on the topic of beasty exhausts, i have the kadron extractor set which meets in the centre of the rear of the engine bay at a flange which then goes to the muffler which has the outlet out the sides, how would it go with a flange that would normally convert two pipes to one spin that around send it out the rear via a pair of 2 1/4" dump pipes out the rear in roughly the standard outlet positions?

sorry for the hijack to by the way
