Imported late notch
Hey all,
I'm not a regular on here but I like the site any how.
So I thought I would drop the bomb.
I'm over over in England and own a Late shaped notch which was imported over here from Aus by a the guy whom owned the car a couple of guys before I
got hold of it. just though I would ask if anyone recognises it, I'm not expecting much but thought I would ask.
I can't remember the exact date it was imported but I'm guessing it must have been about three years ago now or more.
Any how enjoy and thanks for any responce.

Pretty cool, late model car with early bumpers and front wrap around blinkers. Someone has taken some time to do that.

What colour are those seats ? If there royal blue outside with a royal blue removable headrest,(chrome bars) and have light blue and cream stripes
running up the centre.and maybe BMW rectractable seatbelts..IT could be a longshot, but may be my old Knotch of about 9 years ago. Originally it was
purchased from a deceased estate white in colour, from SA , i later had it painted again white. ended up having it for about 7 years , got defected
for ride height and plenty of other stuff. lost interest sold it to a so called buddy (no plates)so his kid could use it on a farm.for next to
nothing.found out later he sold it on ebay for a huge amount. was purchased from a guy in france who i contacted via email and found this info
out.who did a full resto found no rust or bog whatsoever and painted it that colour Blue?this would be really bizare if it was the same car. because i
reconise the headrest like last time. heres a pic from when i had it.

I certainly recognize those seats you've pictured cause they are the very ones in my car. I brought it from a guy in Chelmsford here in the UK, I am
the forth owner of the vehicle since it arrived here in the UK in Feb 2003. I purchased it back in May 2007. I'd put my money on it being the car in
question.
The above pictures are the ones I saw which tempted me into buying it. It looks sweet in the photo you have posted up, its certainly changed even since the for sale pictures I have posted
up.
Have you any other pictures of it from when you owned it? I'm really chuffed to be the owner of it as its possibly the most solid late notch I've
seen (and definatly ever owned).
This is it back in November on its way to its hibernation cave, last time it saw the road.

I fitted some 944 brakes all round and am using Cayenne wheels 17x7,5 wrapped in 205 40 17 on every corner now. Im going through fitting a WRX motor
and porsche 915 at the moment and then a respray, probably the same blue.
I've also managed to find some pictures of it from a long time ago, not sure of the date of the picture but It was white at this point and certainly
in the UK. I only recognized it due to the registration mark.
Looks totally different, pretty snotty IMO.

Sweet notch, don't normally like new rims on old Dubs but they kinda work...is that donk in the foreground being transplanted into the notch...nice
workspace..looks typically brittish and COLD. good stuff

Me and those rims are an emotional saga, its not easy trying to guess and find a 5 X 130, wheel whilst having absolutly no idea what offset or width
rim will fit your car. but I like em anyway especially after taking maybe 3 months to hunt a set down that fits in the space

Yes the green house is extremely cold especially at -2 degrees. It was too cold for it to rain when that photo was taken other wise you could have
seen the floodig that reguarly happens....... its soul destroying

so...2 litre turbo huh? got the brakes and suspension in place to back up the extra ponies? Why not paint the rims in anthracite grey cannot pull the
code from my vodka soaked brain but they would look a little better than black cookies. nice notch and don't mention flooding..South East QLD is
renowned for rain...not as much as our northern cousins but enough to make you move to the desert.

Certainly do........
These 944 brakes are what caused me so much trouble finding a set of wheels that would fit. I have the porsche wheels on the back with no spacers and
a 14mm spacer on the front. and I definatlely things the dark grey is the way forward with the wheels.
Not got the suspension in place yet as I'm still waiting for my suppleir to supply but should have it by next weekend if he prevails. Well this is
for the rear axle..... I haven't really sorted out a solution for front as of yet. but I've got enough on my plate at the minute.

Yep! They should do the job nicely did you have the Cayenne wheels on
this set up as well? what sort of shocks are you going with Kai?

I got hold of all the brakes first and figured my good luck would prevail when I brought the cookie cutters from a Porsche owner. They where the 6
wide on the front and 7inchs on the back. but luck did not follow me and.... you've seen the picture. the offset on the cookie cutters is a real
strange one apparently. Took me almost three months to source the cayenne wheels and probably 500miles to finally get hold of them. So after all the
aggro it was to get hold of them and fitted Im happy with the end result
Shocks- Having had to get rid of the torsion bars in the rear axle (to make room for the 915) I'm going to use Uniball joints at the spring plates
and then fully adjustable coil overs for the actual shocks. I'm getting these hopefully next weekend so I can give more specific details once I have
hold of everything.

the Subi powerplant?

No way... I've seen how much work other people have put into them and its a BIG job from what I can tell. plus a Porka engine in the UK is going to
set you back a huge amount of bread. I paid £1000 for an entire writen off scooby, your looking at 5, 6, £7000 for a porsche engine which'll
prbably need a rebuild. I've seen a rebuilt porsche engine reach £17000. Im happy with my budget wrx motor

Silly prices-
I like the WRX motor plus it sounds awesome too. Not that I have heard many Porsches but Im happy with the choice I have made.
