Secret to installing a Bay window windscreen ?

I am about to embark on installing my Bay's windscreen (with a new rubber).

I have successfully done beetle ones in the past using the magic of sex lube and
electrical cable (I heard wipper snipper cable is good too).

Any other secrets in doing Bay window screens before i commit ?

(i.e top, bottom or corners go in first etc)

cheers - Daniel

yes,
would be the same as a beetles
especially the 1303S supers..

best of luck

I hate doing any of them... lol

Lee

back in early 70s I used to carry electrical wire just for putting a new windscreen in...
as stones would shatter the hardened glass windscreen very easily... plus I used windscreen sealant - mastic...

Did you hear about the fellow who used Armorall on the window rubbers....
slammed the door and the two side windows popped out...

so, don't slam the door with the windows up...lol

If you have the screen and a new rubber give one of the windscreen mobs a call. wont cost much to get them to do it. that way you can drink your beer while they do it!!

Plus if it leaks then you have a warranty!!

Cost my bro $90 for windscreen guys to come to our house and put front and rear windscreen in his Mini, so you'd prob be looking at around $50 for just windscreen I guess.

hmm, i worked from top to bottom with mine, just used windex. There are better things to do with sex lube. The front screen is just about impossible to get perfectly even all the way around. After driving for a while it eventually settles OK.

...I think Lee's armour all story reeks of urban myth.

I always like the jrubber join to be centered at the top it looks poxy if the join is in the wrong position

use plenty of lube and windex is good as well

If its a laminated screen be careful when baning the rubber better off pushing with yr thumbs

best if you get 2 or 3 mates when installing to hold and apply even pressure
