Rolled Kombi arches..
Hey, just bought a great set of rims for my kombi, but the back ones rub the arches ever so slighlty. I have seen modern cars with rolled arches to
give clearance. can you do this at home DIY? Has anybody had it done? I am in Lismore NSW, any recomendations?
PS the kombi is a double cab.......what happens when i load her up

Also try typing "lismore tyres" into Google. That'll give you 10 telephone numbers in Lismore that you can 'phone. By the time you've spend $2 on
the 'phne, you'll know where you can get it done.

i have been there , i used a rag on a dolly and a hammer from the inside i hammered ,dolly on outside.
when suspension working up plenty clearance when loaded if it does not touch when empty it wont when loaded
because the wheel goes in when it hits a bump and the top of the wheel goes up at an inward direction and when loaded it is straight , you would need
to load a bloody lot to make it rub the bolge in the tyre at the bottom.My old 71 had a whole 6mm of clearence and never rubbed for 6 years.

The wheel arch rolling tool is available from Burson Auto Parts and was a reasonable price last time that saw it in the catalogue.

fixed the problem by having a local engineering company remove 6ml from the inside of the rim. problem solved for $60 yeha

Oh man! There's a whole thread on theSamba about the abomination of cut wheel arches. Is this really still happening?!? I thought that was a 70's
thing.
Glad you managed to modify the wheels rather than the arches, hope that's legal.
