Engine cover spring installation

Hi All

Hoping someone round here can help me.
I have just bought a 63 beetle and there was no spring to hold up the engine cover (boot? bonnet?).
I have bought a new spring but have absolutely no idea on how to fit the damn thing.
Anyone got help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

I have always found the easiest way is to take the lid off. Then fit the spring and slide the lid down until the bolt holes line up and it will hold by itself to put the bolts back in. A couple of minutes on your own.
