Suddenly roof and one window won't work
hi,
i have a 1999 golf convertible.
after over 4 years of never having a problem with the automatic roof today it will not move an inch when i press the button.
at the same time, the driver side front window also won't go down at all. i can hear a motor type sound but it doesn't move. other 3 windows are
all fine.
the car hasn't been used much over recent weeks which made me think it could be low battery, but the fact that other windows work and one doesn't
suggests it's another issue.
also, i dont know much about these things, but looked into the fuse box and nothing is labelled for these.
somone's help (and detailed explanation) would be great. im concerned about going to a garage and being hit for a lot of perhaps unnecessary
money.
many many thanks,
sk

Your roof has a hydraulic system to raise and lower, so check there is still fluid in it.... its in the boot. And the window regulator has most likely
crapped itself on the drivers door...
