I have 2 manuals that give me different info

Is it an original VW distributor with a vacuum advance can on the side???

im even more confused now as my local repco agent just sold me a set of Bosch points number GB529. Are these the same as 01 011?

I have just found that GB529 are a common set of points
for 71-73 most type 1s....
but GB534 are the MOST common...
I'm not sure what the difference is...
could be the wire come off a different direction...??
Looks like Yu have the correct set....

Best to buy from a VW shop.... they know...
same with fan belts etc....

Hi
Your points are most likely the Australian type (#GB529), they don't have a pivot pin in them, the pivot pin is part of the dizzy base. The points
will appear to be in 2 different pieces.

its been to many years since i frigged around with points
but pretty sure GB529 was the low profile cap style where the pivot pin was part of the base plate they started in 72 or 73
GB534 were the earlier type that fits 009s too
