My new 68 Beetle

Hope the photo's work.
Bad points: It has some rust spots under rear window, one spot under back passenger glass, next to the top driver door hinge, some small bubbles on bonnet and next to the accelerator pedal which i'm getting cut out soon.

Good bits: 1916 Penrose built engine, front disc brakes, nice speedy rims, honda seats(not classic look but comfy) and exhaust(which might be a little too big but makes good noise)

I'm not real good mechanically but hope some of you guys can show me the basics. :D

Thanks guys, It looks better in the pics as you can't see the little imperfections but hey, i think its pretty nice

Also my bonnet is now stuck :fakesniff: Tried pushing down and lifting also tried with girlfriend pushing release lever in glove box and lifting still no good. Going to have to cut the handle i think. Any other suggestions you can think of?
Cheers

Does the pull lever "pull" as normally?

can you feel it moving or is the cable snapped do you think?

it may simply need a bit of WD40 or something similar spraying into the catch through the panel line at the front, to free it up a bit,

My cable broke at the lever. Unsrew the lever and see if the cable is still attached to it.

By lever you mean the lever in the glovebox yes? I tried to jiggle it around the handle that is and it has a little bit of movement but not much, there was more sideways movement than up down. Also as i have only discovered the lever, i'm not sure what its normal action is. It seems tight and doesn't go all the way down. It only has 1 screw and 2 rivets holding it on so i'll need to break the glovebox to see if the wire is connected. Is there an easy way to check to see if the wire is there?

I had this happen once and if you remove the glove box and the dash grill you can actually undo the bonnet bracket bolts and lift the bonnet up to see what is causing the problem. Bit of a pain in the ass job but the only way I could see to fix it - mine was just incorrect ajustment.
Cheers
