Fan Belt Replacement

Im just about to replace the fan belt in my squareback, the new one I have been given seems a lot smaller than the old one.
I know these belts stretch over time, but I wouldn't have thought by that much.
I did specify the correct model and year of car when I ordered it.
My question is, should I be questioning if I have the right one, or should I try and fit it?

It has written on it...

9,5 x 905 La

Thanks in advance.

fit it but dont forget to undo the genny pully ,and get the spacers because you will need to reset everything it's not hard , so when you have it on the spacers you can ajust the tension
good luck

CIP1 shows two different belts for type 3s

one for 1962-1966 part number 311 903 137A

another one for 1966-1974 part number 311 903 137B

they don't give lengths...

but I'm sure a 905 length belt won't fit..

did You buy from a VW shop???
