Type 3 parts UPDATE
I have some type 3 bits for my '72 square which are now excess.
I'll be putting the pop-outs on eBay next couple of days.
NOS speedo with trip meter, very rare. Later style gauge, still in box. $150 SOLD
pair of pop-out windows for a square, with new inner and outer rubbers plus the beading stuff that clips over the window opening to dress it up, in
black. $200
pair of pop-outs as above without the new rubbers etc $70.
Rear square section bumper for a square, may suit the others with shitty chrome $20.
I will **PROBABLY** be going to the show on Sunday, see how it goes. Let me know if you are interested in something and want to pick it up there.
Otherwise I am at Wynnum/Manly, bayside Brisbane.

Angus, the pop outs you have, are they for late or early squares? I didn't think the later (70/ 73) had pop outs cheers, Adam

Adam
I am by no means an expert on type 3s, (more familiar with early beetles and ghias) but I believe the "pop-out' windows to be the same size over the
years for each body style, but I think it went from a standard fitting in the early cars, to an optional fitting by about 1970 (most cars had the
slots in the window frame but still may have had fixed windows) to the very late 72/73 models which didn't have them at all. My '72 doesn't have
the slots, but they can be fitted from an early donor car.
I've been so busy lately it's taken me 4 months to NOT fit a console into my car. All I've done is wire up the radio harness, I'm just not going
to get around to the pop-outs any time this century.
Can anyone else confirm one way or the other?
Cheers
Angus

When the type 3 body got rear pillar ventilation vents, they stopped the pop-outs ( from 71 on ).
The windows are the same size, but as mentioned you need modification to the B pillar to fit properly, Cheers, Pat.
