Serpentine set ups- pics wanted
HI guys, Can you with serpentine setups please post pics
Of paticular interest is how the bracket mounts on the gennie stand a how the slide mechanism works.
Is it simply clamped into position and held with friction?
Photos wouldbe great!

i belive you take out the two front studs and put in longer ones, and the tensioner pulley works how most usually do (if you have ever worked on a car
that has a tensioner pulley). Iv never inspected a serpentine setup though. its a great idea. check out issue 18 of VWMA (may-july 08') for an
article on this setup.

it bolts to the generator/alternator stand
the bracket that is...
You just take the studs out, and replace them with longer studs or bolts...
then the sliding part bolts to the bracket..
it has the idler bolted to it...
the idler has a bearing in the centre of it...
so the centre doesn't move... it can't its bolted tight..
once the belt tension is correct...
most vehicles on the road are using an idler pulley...
I think its much better than having the split alternator pulley...
the ribbed belt cannot come off either...
