I will be upgrading the underlying version of PHP to the latest version, and also investigating moving to latest version of the database server.

I've had to cancel this upgrade for the time being as our preferred PHP accelerator is unclear on its support for 5.2.9.
We need the accelerator as it boosts the performance of the forum by about 10x over a pure PHP installation.
