I'm not sure, but I think that pic is of the famous "Corkscrew" @ Laguna Seca.
The elevation differential between the subject and the camera leads me to that conclusion.
It's an unbelievable drop off and great for classic photos of anything motor driven.
Wheeeeeee!

Regards,
Steve

I doubt it's the corkscrew, he'd be braking going in not doing a power wheelstand.

Matt hasta be one of the greatest Aussie bike riders ever in my opinion.
I raced against him in 1989 or 1990 when he was on a 250 and i have never seen anything like what he can do on a bike!
When he rode for Kawasaki in the 90's,he demolished everyone as soon as he started riding the ZXR and smashed lap records.
I thought he was the most arrogant prick i had ever met,as did most other people, yet you cant deny how damn good a rider he is.
So many 'experts' say he cant cut it in world supers or GP's,thats bullshit. He doesnt need to show how good he is by racing at that level.
My opinion (as an ex Superbike racer) the American championship is highly regarded as one of the toughest in the world and Matt has shown
how good he really is by winning 6 or 7 titles against all comers. The guy is a FREAK of natural ability.
Racing bikes at these speeds looks easy.I thought that till i jumped on a superbike in the same race as the best Australia has to offer and i thought 'What have i done?'
Trust me,it aint easy.
Yes,Matt's a cocky bugger, though he seems to have calmed down a bit with age,yet thats all part of the mind games he played with the opposition.
Get in someones head and theyre buggered.
The only guy that could take it to matt was Ben Spies and that guy showed how good he is at Philip Island recently.
Never seen the track before, puts it on pole, wins the second race.Thats talent!
I'm a massive fan of Mladin as a bike racer and may he continue to flog the crap out of the seppo's!
And no,it isnt the corkscrew where that pic was taken.
Looks similar to a shot ive seen from Elkhart Lake track.
Could be anywhere though
