Vintage Speed Exhaust
Hi,
Wondering if anyone has had a good look at the Vintage Speed Exhaust?
http://vintagespeed.hotwear.com.tw/
The design doesn't follow the traditional VW performance design of 4 pipes going into the 1 collector.
The Vintage Speed exhaust's design has each pipe going into straight into the muffler. No collector. Totally different to the established rule that
VW performance engines need the 4 pipes going into the 1 collector.
I think it is similar in design to the exhaust system on old 911's.
Any thoughts?
Has anyone used the exhaust system?
Can it make real power?
I will try to upload some pictures.
Thanks

they are both the same length... so its just 2 into 1... rather than 4 into one.... It will sound different but still work the same. its not a heap
different to the orignal, just doesnt have heater boxes..... Cool looking system

On paper & in pictures the exhaust looks great.
Stainless steel.
Makes power... well the website claims it does!
Fits under the rear apron & exits the the factory exhaust cutouts.
It costs $550 USD - that's around $750 AUD.
Is it too good to be true?!
Well it work?
My engine is a 1916 (Base Stan)
Twin Kadrons.
Pertonix Igniitor 2 ignition system - distributor, coil, 8 mm leads.
Empi tuck up header.
Heads - 40mm/35mm
Stan's cam.
Thanks.

That includes shipping.
Exhaust - $450 (USD)
Shipping - $100 (USD)
Total - $550 (USD)
The price seems too good!

Certainly an improvement over stock system, but surely not a good power system....based on numerous dyno tests, 4 in 1 with the collector min. 90.o mm
long vith pipes layed out in firing order is the go..

What type of customer did you get?
Was it made up for you?
Could you notice any imprpovement in performance, drivability etc?

it was a custom header set from vforce. it was built to suit the car, its made a huge difference from the previous version.
