need help fitting door rubbers

Anyone done this successfully or got any good links to a "how to" or anything relevant? Searching hasn't turned up much.
I'm using German door rubbers (from cip1.com IIRC) on an early type 3.
Looking at them they are coated with talc or something.
I seem to remember there being clips somewhere on the original one that I took off 6 years ago..or am I dreaming?
Glue is involved too of course  contact cement or something else?
I really want to get a good result first time round.

TIA for your help & comments!

MODS: Feel free to relocate to a diff subforum. Didn't want to cross-post.

Now why didn't you think of that last week T:starhit:

You'll have to put some plugs into the holes in the A pillar where the original seal went around the opening limiter. The newer ones have an integral one with the door seal. Contact cement ok. Well the originals seemed to think it was an ok glue in the 60s!
