How Much
I know its a "loaded" question, but I aunt has a 2003 VW syncro with a Trakka conversion on it. They have onwned since new, but her husband died
not long after, so it has sat for a long time. It has only 6000km on it. 2.5TD We have fianlly conviced her to do something with it, as it is just
sitting there, doing nothing.
What sort of $$$$ is it worth??
Thanks
Matt

This sounds like a great vehicle. 2003 is the T4 Transporter, and the 2.5 TDI was a nice Audi-based motor. It produced 75 kW at 3500 rpm and 250 Nm at
1900-2300. The Syncro is quite rare - I had a quick look on carsguide.news.com.au and there aren't any for sale at the moment.
What is it worth? Well, carsguide has some dealer-listed bare white '03 T4 vans (long wheelbase) for up to $24,500 at the moment. That's for a good
one - half-million km ones sell for less than $10K. Now add the price of the Trakka conversion - do you have the original papers? - maybe $20K? Plus
your low mileage, and syncro 4WD, one owner history, etc. Service, wash and detail it inside and out, and I reckon you are looking at $40-$50K easily.
I hope this one goes to a VW enthusiast who will look after it.
