my seats are from an early 90s honda prelude. theyre nice but they sometimes get in the way of shifting, especially into reverse when the passenger seat is forward

I've had renault Fuego seats in a '71 front and rear!

The rears are so cool because the backs split. the seats are mini buckets. I welded in some brackets to hold them in and with a parcel shelf you could access the back just by folding one of the backs down.
Real comfortable too.

newbie here, so forgive me if I sound stupid :)

my girlfriend has just bought an early 1970 beetle, and it only has the drivers seat fitted at this stage.

am I correct in thinking the seats are removed and leave the lower half of the runner in the car?? if so this seems like a real hassle to me.

There are 2 T shaped runners about ... what 450mm apart on the floor

The seat slides on over it with its C channel

Pretty easy to slide in and out.
