There is a LPG conversion place round the corner so i sent #1 round there to see what the go is with conversions seeing there is a hefty give back

I have a caravelle and the bloke said it cant be done as it there is no where to put the tank

Has anyone done this or seen it done??

Hi

I know a guy with Syncro that had one done but they have the tank in different position.

If your going LPG go the LP gas injection route, not the barby burner in the snorkel way.

My V6 Hi Lux work ute has LP gas injection, unreal, no loss of power on petrol or gas.

The only problem is its much dearer for the conversion.

Hi

I only see him every now and again at shows.

You can see some conversions here http://www.gasure.co.uk/saleswbx.htm

Hi

My Hi Lux has no spare, the LPG tank fits in its place, it looks like one of these.

You could use one of these and mount your spare inside the car.

Hang on - the spare is at the front
Like the front

Even beetles have a spare wheel in front
Reckon this is a problem??

I got a conversion done about 10 months ago in a T3. It's a trakka with rear seat pressed up against the engine compartment. The tank went under the rear seat without any worries. It's not a massive tank, around 45 litres fillable, but the seat is still able to fold up and down fine.

I used Ultimate Gas Conversions in Melbourne, not sure where you are. There number is 97769770. They did a really good job, except a couple gripes. They got slack on the oil breather, which needed to be changed due to the gas. Basically it couldn't breath well and oil leaked everywhere for ages, once I worked out what it was they did fix it, but didn't steam clean the engine, which was now covered in oil...

I've just got the standard gas conversion, not injected and it's great! Cheap as to run, about half price, no noticeable loss of power, and it runs great on both petrol and gas.

Important to make sure the gas mixer is sandwich plated between air flow meter and piping going to the injection. This allows it to run well on both petrol and gas, which many other conversion can't do.

There's always scuba and donut style tanks as well...

GOod luck, it's worth it!!

Cheers,
Dustin
