Drivers side door lock help please!
Hi all!
OK...just received a new drivers side door handle, have taken the old one off the car and have just spotted that they differ internally.
I have tried to get the new one to fit but the extra bit in the newer one prevents it.
Any suggestions?
If at all possible i was going to use the old handle and drop the newer push button & barrel in it. Is this an option here or have i just got the
totally wrong handle? Our car is a 67
Thanks guys

Just in case any other newbies come across this....
Problem solved!
Turns out our 67 has 60 - 64 doors fitted, hence the difference in the lock.
When the right part arrives i'd still like to know if i can swap the push button from the new one into the old one though (german made / better
chrome).....if anyone knows the answer to that it would be appreciated!

I thought ALL Beetles made with the square push button were the same... Australian beetles that is...
German 67 beetles had a round push button....
One year only...
Keep looking...
plenty of used door handles out there... hundreds of them
