Aren't you tempted to up the boost a little bit?

Would love to see some pics of your exhaust mods too...

Great read Jak - awesome in fact. Huge congratulations to your success with your conversion.
I saw on ebay you can get new TD05 20G turbos for $600 or so too..

Again, congrats, and thanks for sharing your success with us all.:tu:

Still going strong Jak, and you dont drive it like a pussy which is good as well

So what is the 20G turbo, I run a TD05 but no idea what it is. Why would Jak for this over the 22 or 23 VF series?

I am thinking Jak has a low mount intake like the RS turbo

The TD05 20G , would be a direct fit to his set up

The TD05 20G , imo is a more drivableless lag than a 22/ 23 & would last 10 x longer than a VF22 as we all know when you boost them they go bang.

I have a TD05 16 G , its off an Evo , look that up on the web it may get you thinking

Hi Neil

Sorry to hijack your post Jak, do the VF 23 suffer the same fate as VF22s?

Neil, so would my 94 WRX engine likely be running a TD05-16G? So are you saying for some reason the Evo and WRX turbos are different even though both being 16G's? Does the Evo turbo still bolt up to an EJ20?

Doing engine upgrades early next year so just looking into turbo options.

Hi mate , I can not tell you 100% as some had the Td04 turbo

To let you know , if you see a clasic wrx say 1994 JDM half cut with the front A arms in steel , it will more than likely have a TD04 turbo fitted

If you find a clasic wrx say 1994 with ally front A arms , it will on most cases have a TD05 xx turbo fitted . These are a better motor
Anther tip is to date the motor & remove the oil cap and look at the dates.

Yes that is correct the Evo has different wheel sizes than WRX all though the same numbers.

no the evo turbo has different flanges, as can be seen above
