'97 Remake 'The Love Bug' - Loan Please?
I would like to loan a copy of the '97 remake of 'The Love Bug', the version that apparently has Horace the black bug in it.
If anyone has it and is happy to loan, I'll pay postage etc. Please PM me, thanks!

We have a copy in the Club Veedub library (on VHS), but this tape and all the others too are currently unavailable while we convert them to DVD. It
isn't actually a very good copy - it was sent over from the US by a mate, taped from their TV. US TV is pretty crap, with funny colours (blue skin,
green sky etc) flicking in and out. We did show it at a club film night back in 2001.
Disney has not released this made-for-TV film to commercial DVD as yet, nor the 'Herbie The Matchmaker' TV series. Maybe one day...

I didn't know that there was a series or other love bug movies....
but there are many tv series that We never see..
I hear about them on the biography channel...
We get very few of their tv series...
maybe they think WE wouldn't watch them.... lol
their NTSC TV system is very inferior to Our PAL system..

Lee there were five Herbie movies made for the cinema:
The Love Bug (1968)
Herbie Rides Again (1974)
Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977)
Herbie Goes Bananas (1980)
Herbie Fully Loaded (2005)
All of these are available on DVD.
In 1997 Disney made a 'for TV' movie also called The Love Bug. It was not shown at the cinema. It was supposed to be remake of the 1968 original,
but in reality it was more a 'sequel'. It changed a number of the themes set in the movie series, and it was the one with Horace the black Bug in

Disney also made a short-lived TV series, called Herbie The Matchmaker (1981). There were only five episodes made before it was cancelled. Jim Douglas
runs a driving school in LA, using Herbie. There is a sub-plot about Jim falling in love with a divorcee, and a nasty former husband played by Larry
Linville (Frank Burns on MASH). This series is very hard to find on tape and has not been released on DVD. I have a copy of them but, yes, taped from

When i get my copy of the new love bug transfered to DVD i will make copys and give them to any one that wants one for free plus postage charges.
