Airkewld Products! - http://www.airkewld.com/ - intake stuff!
Hey all.
I was browsing thesamba.com and came across a few products (for kadrons in particular) and wondered if anyone has had any experience with this
company/these products.
Stainless bolt kits, kadron air cleaners

Kadron air cleaners. I also dig the breather hard lines. One of my main reasons for asking about this stuff is, does anyone make these in australia

Love the finish these create, just a little added touch.
Fuel lines

'Finished Lines are here! Hard line kits are the epitome of BAD ASS! No more rubber hose with hose clamps. No more engine fires due to faulty
hoses or clamps. 100% stainless steel hard lines hand bent and fit with the best AN fittings on the market. This particular kit is for dual
Kadrons/Solex 40MM carbs. It is set up to accept an electric fuel pump, not a mechanical fuel pump. This kit uses -6 Stainless Steel tubing with Blue
anodized fittings. It has one stainless steel white face fuel psi gauge and it ran to a through-the-tin fitting with a -6 mail on the other end. This
kit comes with the adapters for the fuel inlets to change it to -6 as well.'

'This system does all the lines under your tank and includes the following: Tank AN Fitting, Electric fuel pump, Pressure Regulator, Reusable
Billet fuel filter, -6 AN fittings and Stainless Steel braided lines. As of this time, the lines will come un-assembled so they can be cut to length.
No more fumes, rubber gas lines and faulty hose clamps. Get a proven fuel management system that not only looks clean, its efficient and
clean.'

I like this option as you can see what the pressure is running at, which is a plus, as long as its accurate.
One of my main reasons for asking about this stuff is, does anyone make these in australia?? Particularly the hard lines? Is there somewhere
that i can get the fittings and do it myself??? Also, is there any way I can make the line between the fuel line at the firewall and the tunnel a hard
line?? I thought about just putting a metal fuel filter in there, with rubber hose. what size is similar to stock VW fuel line... Im only going to be
running the kardons. appreciate any ideas that you have

Colonel,
Here's my 2 cents. The Airkewld gear is sexy, no argumnent from me on that point. All the screws and nuts and such can be purchased
locally, and with a hacksaw and patience you could replicate them.
Aircleaners look like Airkewld only jobbies.
Now...the AN stuff. Pick your poison here. Earl's, Speedflow, Aeroquip, Pirtek etc etc for the fittings. Earl's are ultra sexy, ultra $$$'s and all
the hosing AFAIK is still Imperial. They do make Metric/AN fittings. I would use their teflon lined hosing for fuel.
Downside? The braiding is abrasive so be warned.
Want to slobber and drool endlessly? http://www.earls.com.au . I'll let you enjoy
finding others.
It is a massive ask on your hip pocket...but up to you to decide in the end.
Hmmm..more like two bob's worth .

Cheers Ctefeh.
It is a bit of cash for something that could be done with $20 of decent hose, I know. Found it interesting though, and haven't seen many people here
or at vw shows doing it.
How abrasive? I know the ends fray and can cut your hands and stuff, so keeping them correctly under the fitting is important...

Well, I found a fuel pressure regulator today at the Local auto store, 'Speco' being the brand. it had marking's on it of, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5
(up to don't know what - Rod Penrose told me to set Kadrons @ 1.5) It was only $30, so going back on pay day. the whole pre made solid lines thing
got a bit old in my head when I worked out the prices, and then shipping and the possibility of tax.

Will just have to make a mount for it, or bolt it onto the carb linkage, just before the fuel tee. (has to be post pump, right?)
And get some propper barbed fittings the right size for the VW hose.
More opinions appreciated

Thanks for the Tip Craig. I'm no longer going for kadrons, as I've secured something better...
Blue hose and brass tee needed, no reg. Wow, $40 rather than 1k...
hahaha

i did not think that kadron's would justify that sort of money being squander on them, as for the hard line kit, a fire could be expected as soon as
the stainless steel lines work hardened and cracked, add the cost of all of this up and purchase a set of real webbers
