Engine number
Hi fellow dubbers,
I'm trying to identify my vw buggy motor but none of the websites i've seen have any numbers like it. It's V760890P and I can't find anything that
even starts with V. Any clues would be appreciated as I need to buy some parts.
Cheers, Blueeagle.

Easy. V will mean Victoria, and P probably means police. ie. It would have been (re)stamped by them, as a new number. (Maybe it was originally a
typ 3 case? with no. in a different place) Sorry, this doesn't help tell which motor it is/was.
I would like to know where the prefix "NREPS..." is from, as I have seen it stamped in as a replacement chassis no. (I was told it was a NSW
police-issued number, probably regional, but would like to confirm it.)

The new cases without a number would almost certainly been a 1600 dual relif case
What it has been built into is open ended
Minimum would be a 1600
largest ?????
What are you after??

I was looking to buy cannon exhausts which were to suit 1200- 1600. I was told when i bought the car that it was 1800 but have no proof.

It could well be a 1776
This has the stock 85.5 barrels replaced with 90.5's
The only real way to test is to pull the heads off and measure them
That said - the exhaust you are looking at will fit

Thanks gents,
That's a great help. It will be nice to get rid of the rusty old eyesore of an exhaust and get some decent noise happening at the same time.
Cheers Blueeagle.
