Whats the widest tyre that can be put on a 6 inch rim (31 inch high tyre)
found a good local cheap set of steelies, 4 stud pattern, 6 inch wide, 15 inch tall.
Just concerned as to whether i will be able to put a decent wide tyre on the rear's.
I would be certainly keen if i could fit 8 inch a a minimum. It might be a stupid idea, but i thought being tall, they will have plenty of room to
'bubble' out as such.
stupid idea?
I'm just too tight for a set of brand new wide rims to just start off with

hmmm... most offroad tyres in 31 inch appear to be 10 - 10.5 inch wide...

You dont need the tyres to bubble out.... when you let the tyres down the length of tread on the ground is what helps.... like a tank. But anyway 6
inch is too narrow for the rear. 7 or 8's are what you need..... keep searching the swapmeets

Hi guys. I think 11CAB is right. I have 235/70/15s on 15x6 on a volksrod and they're only 29 inches tall. If you wanted to go taller you need to go a
bit skinnier to keep the sidewalls under control. Skinny - yuck : ) If you happen to find a set of 7 or 8 inch rims with the same inner diameter of
bug wheels, I can weld the bug centres in if that helps.

Thanks mate
How much would you want for such work?
There are heaps of 15 inch hilux steelies and sunraisers out there, not sure if they have same ID though.,

If the centre is the correct size - as in exactly (what are our chances???) then $55 a wheel will get the job done.($35 if the centres are already cut
out) If there is a gap, then it will be more as it will need a ring put in there, but I wouldn't count on that being legal. The better the fit the
better, in other words. If you can find rims that are the same inner diameter as the 15 inch beetle centre, I'll do your wheels for some of those
rims instead of cash. How's that sound? Let me know anyway as I'm always happy to cut and weld something : )
