Ken Virgin was using twin strombergs on 36 hp engines in the '50's. There will be a feature spread on Ken in the May - July 2010 issue of VWMA,
issue no. 26
By the way, I wouldn't use the stromberg you have pictured, it probably has nasty little pollution control characteristics like a fixed position
idle jet screw. Best go for an earlier model, say early '70's or late '60's.
Regards,
Matt.

Thnaks mate. Ill give the wreckers a call tonight. Preferably some off a HK.
Also can anyone fill me in? Because Carbs are really the only thing I have no idea about when it comes to mechanics. What are the venrturies and what
sie should I get? Also what is IDF?
Finally what are some of the most custom carbs people have used? I had a boke telling me he once used Carbs off an old Subaru Liberty.

well, it depends on the engine your using. and what power you want to get out of it, etc. From your combined threads..... I have no idea what setup
you're going for.

If I remember correctly, 138 holden Grey motor. Bolts straight onto 1500 single port manifold but requires smaller jets. Heaps of low down torque.

Jamie That is aesome! When did you do it? How did it go?
Colonel Mustard- Mate thats fine haha. At the moment I have so many different ideas that I just dont know. I have taken out my TP and saving for a
rebuild. In the meantime Im looking for some carbs to put on my 1800 so I can put it in my Panel van so it will keep running. It doesn't have any
carbs so I instead of going tock I decided to go different and have some fun.

did you see the kadrons for sale in the for sale section. they would be suitable, you just need differnt manifolds, and an extra piece for the
linkage, and correct jetting. (i think there are for sale for $700)

Ah, rod penrose would be my first choice, but he has gone O.S for a few weeks.
maybe ring mick motors and ask if they have manifolds for an 1800. or ring the chap selling them and see if he has any ideas.

I used a pair of strombergs off a EH 149 with venturi reducers and smaller jets on my old oval with a 1500 a lot of years ago,it went fairly hard at
the time.We used 2 or 3 holden bakelite blocks to bring them up from the manifold to make the linkage setup easier. Cheers Les
