removing starter bush...help!


ve got the car on ramps...starter motor out....

How the hell do you remove the old bush? its so bloody tight under there which doesnt help i guess.

Managed to chip a bit of it out with a screwdriver, but cant see how you can get anything in there behind it to prise it out.
Swift help appreciated as im in the middle of the job!

GET A metal cutting tap dosent matter what thread it is thats a tight fit into the bush and cut it into the bush

then u can use pliers to remove the bush

As above or a strong bent tip screwdriver (bent to a shallow 90* hook) but the 1/2"(?) tap works much better.

managed to whack a bolt into it and then pry out with clawhammer!

Hi

With the tap method if the motor is in the car still, just keep screrwing and it will bottom out and then get driven out by the tap.
