gearbox 1500 wooo
ive just pulled the engine and box
ive pulled apart the gearbox, but ive reached where i need a press to pull the gears out i want to change the bearings and seal. Who do you think
will help me out with that and give me some pointers in assembling, i went to the library to look at manuals but they were wrong ones the casings
split apart, mine dosent, i saw alot of measurement and stuff im concerned about that but all i want to do is bearings not sure
Im in the melb north any info or your thoughts i would like to hear from you

VW gear boxes are a black art, not many people around know what there doing, theres more to them than evan a transmision specialist can deal with and
get right. Look for help in one of the better more established VW shops down there.

I always try to encourge people to "have a go",
but you REALLY are stepping in the deep end.
There are many bearings inside a Volksy box, but normally only
the main shaft bearings, pinion taper bearing, and diff bearings need replacing.
These vary between the different models, but any good Volksy shop should be able to supply them if you have a sample,
or a bearing shop.
But shop around, you can get 100% difference in price of bearings in two phone calls.
Gaskets and seals can come from a Volksy shop too.
Do some searches on this, and other forums, to see if you want to wade into the pool a little further.
