That would be a nightmare but it is certainly do able. I think it would be pretty cool. Hinge side should be easy, the lock and latch would be a
pain. Do away with the door handle altogether and maybe a push button release up front. Id search the yank street rod websites, they do it alot.
But as Barls said, you really should do it in conjunction with the engineer, he may need more mods that we think.

the only way it will get passed is to use bear claw latches so ive been told.

Correct. No bear claws, no pass. As Ian said, check with an engineer too.
