Happy Daze,
How did you create an account with them? Wolfsburg west I mean.

I dont think i want to ring Germany, or where ever it is to get my parts.

How did you go about it??

I dealt with Wolfburgwest though Steve Muller (Kombi Rescue). Steve has an account there, and it suited me to buy through Steve, as he knows much more about VWs than I do - didn't want to end up with the wrong bits. W.West are in USA, not Germany.

Cheers, Greg

I like to use wolfsburg automotive in vic. He is not the cheapest but you have a good chance of getting the right part and the quality will be the best avilable. Mick motors is just down the road from me, but i find you need to check the part your self before buying! They have very good prices and survice but.... Ill pay the shipping fee from VIC to QLD

CSP - the service has been fantastic.

- parts arrive within a week.
- the website is easy to navigate and loaded with useful information.
- excellent communication.
- spend enough Euros, and CSP throws in a huge hardcover parts catalogue (pity I can't read German!) :)

http://www.csp-shop.de/cgi-bin/cshop2/front/shop_main.cgi

Vintage Vee Dub

- use the website to get the phone number and the address.
- great to look @ real parts, rather than images on a monitor.
- fantastic service.
- some cool looking cars in the workshop.

Hi

I've been told that CB Performance have very high freight prices, I needed some Dellorto jets, 16 jets for $20 in freight which I think is reasonable.

WOLFSBURG [owner of EMPI trademark] automotive in VIC
have very good quality stuff... they get a lot made to their specs
[also owner of the wolfsburg crest..]

and I have tp pay for shipping from anywhere... lol

that seems OK for freight Steve

one company selling distributors can send it anywhere in the world for $30us from memory..

others are $80US..

My Son was ordering some stuff from the USA and I asked him to get Me a couple of tail lamp lenses ..
He said it was going to cost an extra $60US...
So I didn't get them... lol

I found CIP1 very expensive in freight...
can't remember cb performance .. but their prices made up for the freight difference. lol

I just looked at samba today and found some auto beetle parts I've been looking for...

I wouldn't have enough sheds or a big enough house to store My vw parts if I lived over there... lol
sorry I'm drooling again...

Here's my 2 cents
Wolfsburg in Vic. Gary is a top bloke, great advice, great service. Parts are full price but who can blame them?
Mick Motors- great range, good advice and typically the lowest price. Posts quickly.
Aus VW Performance Centre in Vic - good advice and service - but don't always have the range. My preferred over the counter supplier.
Eastern Suburbs Engineering - got onto them via this site and have bought a full set of Autostick running gear and acessories. Coordinating transaxle delivery by courier was interesting! Peter from there is great and seems to have every second hand part under the sun.

From the USA, I have bough from cip1.com and airheadparts.com. Both good and well priced, great range, but then you take it in the exhaust pipe in shipping charges. Parts arrived within 2 weeks in both cases.

I just got a freight quote from CB for a CB Performance Quick Tune EFI Kit, about $400, seems OK.

I have found the usual great support from our local dealers and would prefer to support them where I can. Over the years as I have travelled around Australia, all the names and businesses mentioned have been good. I have recently had some excellent service from ISP WEST California, they traced some good quality second hand parts not available here in Australia.

Don't forget the big ones such as Scat or Gex. I haven't had any dealing with Gex but Scat has a huge following in the V8 circles, their VW stuff is just as good quality wise, in my opinion.
