Looking for a Truck Cab...
A mate of mine is rebuilding a Austin 245F Truck for his grandfather. When the truck was salvaged the cabin was absolutely rooted, with major rust in
the A pillar and most of the cabin, so we are searching for another one, does anyone know where we could find one, or somewhere to start looking,
anywhere in Oz, not phased at this stage...
This is what it looks like for those interested...

If it all comes together, we'll be bringing a car to Portland next year on it!

Get the welder out! It will be quicker to repair your rusty cab than it will be to find a better one I would imagine, there can't be many of these
left in good condition.

Maybe so, but have you ever seen a better one going cheap? I have never even heard of these before, and from the looks of your photo they have plenty
of oddly-placed window seals to leak and start the rusting process. I'd say that if you did find another one of these trucks with a rust-free cab,
then the rest of the truck is also likely to be in pretty good condition, which would basically mean that the chassis you're restoring would no
longer be necessary. Good luck though!

I've never actually seen another one.... The chassis that is being restored is almost finished, new motor, gearbox, diff, the whole lot, any, and i
mean this, ANY cab will be better than what was there originally, you have no idea how much rust was there, it was amazing that it was still actually
holding itself up....
As it turns out, we have found 2, yes, TWO in queensland... fingers crossed it all falls together!

I've seen a blue one of these in Victoria. Practical Classics magazine in the UK restored one about 10 years ago too.
Very disinctive with those windows in the front panels.

Well... if any one cares... its finished, running, and a beauty...

Its been on the road a little while now, with a few minor things to do here and there to tidy it up, but its a brilliant tow truck
