my notch is a work in progress . it's going into get repainted in few weeks
(same orange but a dark grey ribbon instead of the stripes)
it has a 2260cc type 4 motor going in after paint is finnished.

Whoa, now that's nice. I don't normally like the early style but the colour really sets it off. And that interior has given me a few ideas as well

Looks nice mate. Love the Porsche cookie cutters on it!! Dont see em on Notches all that often, nice one.

I have been considering orange for my Notch and after seeing yours, Ive gotta say, it does look tasty. Cant wait to see the new paint job mate.

Dont forget to post plenty of pictures....we gotta see pictures!!!

started getting parts for the type 4 new heads(50 x 40)new cam(web 86c) & lifters(scat ?), 44idf webers & short manifolds, 200mm type 4 flywheel, deep sump & compufire DIS-IX coilpack ignition, just orderderd 78.4 crank H beam rods & JE 103mm pistons

Wow Damo99 that looks great type4 bellows aswell. I did a 2L type4 with manifolds like that (I got mine from Melbourne) 15 years ago for my 73 square. There was not much info then and I made a few mistakes and it died early. One of the problems was the manifolds were 20mm or so to long to fit under the hatch so I mounted the engine 20mm lower. I would not do that again the CVs clicked heaps.

I think Adam (Empi) means restored paint by previous owner as there didn't seem to be any early Type 3s painted orange from factory new until the clemantine about 1970 and orange in 72-73.

before the orange it was originally white
