Where can i get moulds made to repro something?


i want to repro some rubber/plastic seals.

Does anyone know where i can get someone to make some moulds so i can repro these seals?

Any suggestions would be great.

the rubber under the mirror i use tap washers and there are a few coluurs

you would have to find a rubber parts manufacturer ,then they will give you a tooling cost ,which can run in the thousands of dollars

Yep tooling up to produce seals like that will cost you a fortune. If you get a real price, make sure you are sitting down, or better still lying on the floor when they tell you.

What about using a thin strip of rubber and just running it around to shape?

the tool to produce those will cost you more than its worth to buy 50 sets of new mirrors

you all mite think i'm past it and well ovwr the top ,but i needed a gasket for an very old part that i wanted to use on my v rod,so i filled a straw with clear silacon worked a treat just a thought

'O' ring kits are similar, lengths of varying thickness neoprene, you cut to lenth and join by super-glue

That's a great idea. You could even make a "straw" out of paper in different shapes e.g. triangular or rectangular.
