shift rod bushing


it appears that my 56 beetle doesnt have a shift rod bushing are these just metal to metal contact? wot year did they start the shift rod bushing Cheers,.

It's always been there otherwise that bracket woulda worn out within a year :crazy:

They can get worn that they just fall out. Probably what's happened with yours as generally no one checks until they have gear selection problems.

no remains in the tunnell of the bushing, doesnt look too worn there, will just clean up and grease it up, cheers
