engine number????


Hi to all you who eat, breath and sleep VW. I'm seeking some information on the engine in my 68 Beetle, the engine number is AD 34 28 76 any help would be great, thanks.

Hi Pete,
EARLY 1971 MODEL ENGINE AD 0,342,876 twin port 1600

made between 1st August 1970 and 31st july 1971
[which is the VW model year..]

AD 0,000,001 TO AD 0,360,022 so looks like it was made in early 1971..

PS: 68 engine would be single port H0 series..
My 1968 H0 series engine
